Tom Howard's show and reception are this Friday. I find I am unable to attend, but I hope some of you from the SWG can find your way there.

Please join us Friday, March 16th from 6 – 9pm for the opening of new work by Tom Howard, Simone Simonian and Nel Ivancich.
Raised in the Bear River Valley, Tom Howard has an attachment to the land that runs deep. Surrounded by the vast expanse of land and mountains, he learned at an early age that he loved to draw and paint the scenery he called home. Today Howard’s landscapes captivate those looking for solace in their surroundings. The tranquility found in nature is imbued in his work. As Howard says, “it is the sense of being completely alone and yet in the presence of something truly grand and beautiful.” He wishes “for [his] paintings to fill one with a sense of peace and rest and still stimulate the soul”. Tom Howard received his BFA from the University of Utah in 1984 and his MFA from Brigham Young University in 1995. He currently teaches at Salt Lake Community College and is a member of the Utah Watercolor Society and the Plein air painters of Utah.
