About Jeannie Millecam:

Jeannie Millecam Artist's Statement and Background:  When I told my grandfather that I was majoring in art, he lit up and said "when you create that is like being a God". That statement has always stuck with me. He was an inventor, and he knew about the power of creation. I have seen this power change the lives of many people. To build something out of nothing is very gratifying. A blank canvas and paint can evolve to express an idea or emotion, make a social statement, or convey the beauty that surrounds us.
I am drawn to color, light, and atmosphere. When I go for a morning run or a bike ride, I am surrounded by potential paintings. A splash of red poppies in a Greenfield, and ominous grey cloud threatening a blowing patch of yellow sweet… Those things excite me!

Jeannie Millecam has taught both high school and community art classes for over 20 years. She currently teaches watercolor and oil painting at Sky View High School. Her art students receive multiple awards and scholarships each year. Similarly, Jeannie has won multiple awards. She has had a personal show at the well-recognized Logan Fine Arts Center where she shows her art almost continuously.

(This from Barbara Glick): Of personal note: Jeannie presented a Line and Wash workshop for The Utah Watercolor Society earlier this year where she was enjoyed immensely! Not only did students go home with nice work, but claimed they learned a lot!.... Jeannie enjoys a personal nod from Carl Purcell, who was an influential teacher in her life.

November 18  all-day workshop with Jeannie: "In this workshop we will focus on watercolor line and wash. We will create different lines from a variety of tools and mediums such as fine point markers, brush pens and watercolor tools. We will also try different ways to approach a watercolor wash. There will be some emphasis on landscape in our explorations."
