Some tidbits:

On Thursday, May 11, we will investigate a new addition to our watercolor library: painting evening light. 1-3:30, Sandy Senior Center. free

CALL FOR ENTRIES! Short notice, but the Diocese has a great offer for area artists: show and sell your art here. But the entries need to be ready to go this coming Saturday, May 13 in order to make the deadline.

From May 16 to June 13, 2017, the Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City, Commission for People with Disabilities, is hosting the "St. Dymphna Art Exhibition." This exhibition will feature artists who live with a mental illness, and those who support them in their journeys. This exhibit is in observance of the feast of Saint Dymphna, patron saint to individuals with mental illness. The goal of this exhibit is to highlight the gifts these artists bring to the community, and to combat the stigma of psychiatric disabilities. Artists interested in participating in the juried exhibit do the following: 1. Bring up to three pieces to the Magdalene Religious Goods and Coffee store on 836 E. 3300 S. by this Saturday, May 13 from 10 AM to 6 PM. 2. Bring in prices, name of pictures, along with your name and type of art i.e. watercolor, mixed media, etc.  Proceeds from sales go 100% to the artist. (but maybe a bit of a donation would be a nice idea)
3. Bring in a statement about your support of mental illness and/or your personal experience with it. State it in a positive way. An attached picture never hurts. Even a statement about your art is acceptable.
Finally, your pieces do not need to be religious.
Also if you have any questions, call Jacque Smithe at 801-214-4237
